Post Graduate Work Permit allows students who have completed their studies from a Canadian post secondary institution to obtain authorization to work in Canada and gain valuable work experience.

A spousal open work permit (SOWP) allows the spouse or conjugal partner to apply for job with any employer. A spousal open work permit is typically valid for the same duration as your partner's study permit or closed work permit.

The Intra-Company work permit allows international companies to transfer employees to Canada without the need to obtain a positive LMIA. 

In some specific cases an individual may work in Canada without a work permit. Normally, these roles are limited to short term work assignments that don't compete directly with the opportunities in the Canadian workplace environment.
